A draft IPO prospectus reviewed by the WSJ shows Anthropic booked $16.3 billion in first-half 2026 revenue, up from $1.1 billion a year earlier, against a net loss of $80.7 billion — roughly $72 billion of which is non-cash accounting on convertible instruments. The filing also discloses about $450 billion in decade-long cloud compute commitments across Google, AWS and Microsoft, and flags customer concentration risk: ~25% of revenue comes from two unnamed customers with no long-term contracts. The IPO is tentatively set for November, led by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

OpenAI is pushing to lock in investor commitments for a roughly $30 billion pre-IPO bridge round valuing it above $1.4 trillion, with MGX and BlackRock in early talks to anchor and SoftBank among existing backers. That's a steep climb from the $852 billion post-money valuation it closed in March. The company has told prospective investors annualized revenue hit $50 billion after GPT-6 Astra, with $70 billion targeted by year-end.

A Reuters investigation details a Chinese-speaking attacker who used orchestrated AI agents to autonomously compromise more than 100 company websites, after targeting over 1,200 since September 25. Researcher Snorre Fagerland of NorForge found the activity via exposed Cairn agent-orchestration installations; the toolchain appeared to mix DeepSeek and Claude Code, averaging 23 hours per successful breach at roughly $50 a pop. Instructions were reportedly under 100 Chinese characters.

Published in the Federal Register today, the exclusion and removal order covers Hangzhou DeepSeek, its affiliates, and critically, third-party products and services built on DeepSeek implementations — including models distilled or fine-tuned from R1 and V3. Agencies must both stop procuring and actively remove covered tech, invoking the 2018 Federal Acquisition Supply Chain Security Act. It's a federal supply-chain restriction, not a ban on private use.

OpenAI published new benchmarks for low-resource programming languages, reporting GPT-6.1 Sol hits 86.6% on COBOL migration at low reasoning effort — versus 5.4% for GPT-5.6 Sol — and 97.9% at high effort, while costing 39% less. The eval moves COBOL programs to C++, Java, Kotlin, Python or Rust and checks byte-for-byte parity on hidden tests. Worth noting: that's pass rate on a hidden eval set, not a claim that 97.9% of any bank's mainframe can be safely auto-migrated.

Microsoft is adding Dynamic Permissions, Dynamic Agent Risk and Guardian Agents to Microsoft 365 E7 and Project Perception. Agents start with zero standing access and get task-scoped, time-limited permissions; a continuous risk score pulls signals from identity, data, devices, network and the agent's own behavior; and Guardian Agents can investigate and contain a misbehaving peer. Discovery expands to 60 local agent types, including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and GitHub Copilot.

MIT CSAIL postdoc Antonio Norelli and colleagues dropped 13 copies of Claude Opus 4.7 into a simulated island world for 30 hours each with no instructions. The agents invented basketball and "the floor is lava," laid out stone constellations, and set then tightened their own juggling records. Crucially, play-experienced agents outperformed fresh copies on later tasks, and wiping their memory logs degraded that gain.

Google Cloud shipped TorchTPU on GitHub, an open-source PyTorch build that runs workloads on TPUs via a configuration change rather than a rewrite — built jointly with Meta's PyTorch team, plus compatibility work with Hugging Face, Inferact and RadixArk, and a bundled migration agent suite. PyTorch underpins roughly 85% of AI apps, most of them written for Nvidia silicon. Amazon shipped TorchNeuron for Trainium one day earlier, so this is a coordinated two-cloud squeeze on CUDA lock-in.

Documents obtained by The Intercept describe an Army Cyber Command program to build AI agents that "autonomously navigate infrastructures," hop device to device undetected, and identify and "neutralize" targets with minimal human oversight — including on air-gapped systems. It's offensively focused and not a demonstrated weapon; a June 24 vendor deck used a hypothetical laptop-to-iPad-to-Windows-11 scenario. Experts flagged collateral-damage risk, citing agents that have already breached outside systems unintentionally.

Reuters reports ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent have ordered over 3 million RTX PRO 5500 cards — about $11,400 each, topping $35 billion combined — currently the most capable Nvidia part they can legally buy under US export rules. Total Chinese orders exceed 6 million units, but Nvidia has told partners they may get only 5% to 10% of requested volume, with global 2027 output capped around 3 million cards. Samples land in December, commercial deliveries in Q1 2027.
